CALL FOR POSITION PAPERS
Workshop on Ambient Persuasion at AmI 14
РWorkshop submission EXTENDED deadline: October 16, 2014
– Feedback to authors: October 20, 2014
– Early bird registration deadline: October 26, 2014
– Workshop at AmI 2014: November 11, 2014

SUMMARY AND THEME
Ambient persuasion (AP) is the utilization of Ambient Intelligence (AmI) systems and services for the design of Persuasive Technologies (PT). In this workshop we will discuss the interplay between AmI and PT. AmI systems enables us to tailor persuasive interventions exactly at the right time and in the right place, which is crucial for the persuasive success. This strategy holds huge potentials to boost persuasive effects, but also bears methodological and ethical challenges.

TOPICS OF INTEREST
Submissions are invited on the following topics:

– Theoretical groundings of Ambient Persuasion
– Persuasive Technologies
– Frameworks and heuristics for the design of Ambient Persuasion applications
– Application areas for Ambient Persuasion technologies
– Case studies, field studies, lab studies of Ambient Persuasion
– Methods and tools for evaluating Ambient Persuasion
– Ethical challenges of Ambient Persuasion

GOALS AND EXPECTED AUDIENCE
The workshop aims at bringing together practitioners and researchers from different domains interested in the potential of Ambient Intelligence for persuasion. It addresses researchers, engineers and practitioners to present their ideas and recent work on AP including Persuasive Systems researchers, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and user experience (UX) researchers, Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) researchers, industrial designers, human factors practitioners and academics, philosophers with a focus on ethics of technology, as well as students with interests in Ambient Persuasion.

SUBMISSION FORMAT
Workshop candidates are requested to send a 2-4 pages position paper following the Springer guidelines for Proceedings to the organizers about their research and link to the workshop theme. Position papers need to be submitted to:
